About the Position We offer you a developing role where you, together with our existing Maintenance Engineer, work comprehensively with our three production facilities. The role is an expansion and focuses on developing and improving our preventive and predictive maintenance as well as ensuring efficient and data-driven working methods within maintenance operations. The position has many internal contact points within operations, maintenance, and storage, as well as ongoing contact with external specialists, system suppliers, consultants, and contractors. About You We believe you have technical education at least at upper secondary school level, preferably complemented with post-secondary education in maintenance, operations, energy, automation, or process engineering. Experience and personal qualities carry significant weight, and we have good opportunities to support and help the right person into the role. You have likely worked several years in a similar role in process industry, energy production, or other technically complex operations. It is advantageous if you have experience with maintenance systems such as Idus or other CMMS/EAM systems, preventive and predictive maintenance, KPI and analysis work, root cause analysis, and improvement work. Experience and knowledge in vibration measurement, data-driven analysis work, and condition monitoring are also advantageous. Special focus has been on combining advanced optimization algorithms with machine learning-based surrogate models, including graph-based representations of core loading patterns. You will further develop this research direction. The project may include cycle-to-cycle optimization, development of new machine learning models, improved optimization strategies, uncertainty quantification, more efficient handling of physical constraints, and expanded analysis of fuel design, loading patterns, and safety-related quantities. The goal is to develop methods that enable faster and more reliable exploration of large design spaces in core and fuel optimization. Duties The duties consist mainly of doctoral studies, where you conduct research within the project and complete courses as part of your doctoral education. The work involves developing, implementing, and evaluating computational methods for core and fuel optimization using machine learning and optimization algorithms.
