Primary Duties The position of 1st Engineer is located on HMS Skaftö. A primary responsibility is to lead and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance aboard the vessel. About the Operation The vessel-thorax operational area comprises three specialties: thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and thoracic anesthesia and intensive care. We provide highly specialized care in the form of cardiac and lung surgery, advanced vascular surgery with endovascular focus, arrhythmia surgery in various forms, and advanced intensive care including ECMO. Within the operational area, approximately 1,500 surgical procedures are performed each year. Our most important overall goals are high quality and good accessibility with the patient in focus.
