Job Duties All hospitals in the county offer AT with traditional specialization, which comprises a total of 18 months distributed across the following areas: internal medicine and surgical specialties together accounting for 9 months, psychiatry 3 months, and general medicine a total of 6 months. AT begins with an introduction week featuring lectures and practical training. The current training program also includes three education weeks linked to medical, surgical, and primary care blocks. During the psychiatry placement, corresponding education is conducted continuously one afternoon per week. Beyond this, full-day seminars shaped according to AT objectives are also offered. Qualifications To begin employment, a medical degree is required, and for those who studied abroad, a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding eligibility to conduct AT. Experience working in Swedish healthcare is meritorious. Assessment of medical competence is conducted as part of the recruitment process.
