Job Description As a legal counsel in the Legal Section – Execution, Criminal Law, etc. – you provide legal advice to the authority's management and other parts of the organization regarding criminal and procedural law and related matters. You work continuously to provide legal support in change and development processes and contribute to legal governance within the authority. Your responsibilities also include reviewing and monitoring the authority's regulations, general advice, and other governing documents. You prepare and present the authority's responses to consultations and draft opinions for bodies such as the Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Chancellor of Justice. Your work may also include preparing proposals for legislative changes to the government. You provide support in legal proceedings, represent the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in court, and make decisions in certain compensation and damages cases. The work as legal counsel is independent and varied. The role involves continuous contact with the Government Offices, other authorities, and other parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. There are good opportunities for remote work of up to 60 percent, depending on individual circumstances. The position is located in either Malmö, Gothenburg, Stockholm, or Norrköping. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is analytical and has the ability to identify solutions to complex issues. You have good judgment and make correct assessments even in situations where multiple interests or perspectives need to be considered.
