About the Job Vintergatans HVB is one of Gothenburg City's residential care homes (HVB) that, as of January 1, 2026, is organized under the HVB and Supported Housing unit within the Southwest Social Services Department. Vintergatans HVB was established in 1998. The facility is located in Bergsjön and has space for five youth ages 15-19. Youth are placed primarily under the Social Services Act (SoL), but in some cases also under the Act with Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU), always based on environmental factors and not on behavioral grounds. Youth may come to us from their families, other institutions, emergency care homes, or interrupted foster care placements. The length of placement is assessed individually based on the youth's needs and can range from months to over a year. We use a systemic/narrative approach and work using social pedagogy methods. Our goal is to provide a safe environment with stable adults and a structured daily routine.
