Are you ready for a challenging and rewarding assignment within our Daily Activity program? We are now looking for a support educator in the Southwest area at Datavägen 29 nav 1. As a support educator, you will have a guiding role in the work team and in our shared approach. You are responsible for developing and implementing pedagogical methods at the unit. This is based on experience and theoretical knowledge when working with participants, leading to increased security, independence, integrity, and self-determination. The assignment includes the ability to engage others, collaborate effectively, and jointly drive ongoing efforts to improve the quality of our activities. About the Workplace We currently have 19 participants working at Datavägen nav 1. Our participants have an early developmental level with extensive multiple disabilities. We offer a stimulating environment that is physically accessible for participants who need mobility aids and specialized equipment. We work based on each participant's interests, abilities, and needs. We use a lot of clarification and alternative communication, visual supports, social stories, individual schedules, and sensory stimulation in our four sensory rooms with different themes. We work calmly and methodically, with each participant having their own individualized schedule based on their wishes, needs, and interests. We meet our participants according to their daily condition to create security, clarity, and predictability. Work is based on implementation plans, action plans, and individual schedules for participants. Documentation occurs daily through social documentation in Treserva and medical documentation via sign-off sheets. We collaborate continuously with external stakeholders such as nurses, guardians, and other important people in the participants' networks. Qualifications For the position of support educator, post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, comprising at least 200 vocational credits, 120 college credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four full-time semesters of study. Alternatively, 60 college credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. The position also requires passing Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the Swedish language requirements, you may be offered a language test through test administrator Educateit. You need to have work experience with autism, low-key responses, and challenging behavior. Work experience and knowledge in the following methods are considered meriting: alternative communication, social conversations/social stories, sign support, and clarification pedagogy. It is also meriting if you have experience with sensory stimulation work and designing spaces and activities that promote participation and well-being among participants. We are looking for someone who can adapt your work style when circumstances change. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are friendly and helpful toward others, even in stressful situations. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect.
