We are now seeking a special education teacher who wants to help create the best conditions for our students' learning and development. This is a permanent full-time position (100%). Welcome to learn more about the role! Description Hammarkullsskolan consists of two school forms: preschool class through grade 3, and an adapted elementary school for grades 1-6. Approximately 200 students attend the elementary school (F-3) and around 41-45 students attend the adapted elementary school in grades 1-6. About 60 dedicated staff members work at the school, and we have a strong and engaged student wellness team. At Hammarkullsskolan, we work to create a good learning environment for students and provide them with opportunities for solid academic development. We strive to create a language-rich environment that permeates the entire school day. We work to ensure that everyone is seen, heard, and accepted by focusing on safety, belonging, and respect. Responsibilities Our starting point is that student wellness begins in the classroom, and we want student wellness work to permeate the entire school day. This means that student wellness staff, including you, aim to work in a health-promoting way together with the entire team. Student wellness is work we do together in all aspects—both the preventive and health-promoting work as well as the intervention and support work. Together with school leadership and the student wellness team, you will work to create accessible learning environments and promote inclusion and differentiation in pedagogical work. Part of the special education work involves specialized teaching interventions in the form of extra adaptations during certain periods. You will be responsible for working with teachers to conduct pedagogical assessments and, where applicable, establish intervention plans. Your primary focus will be on students in the adapted elementary school, working within the school environment. You will also mentor teachers in their work with extra adaptations and special support, and you will collaborate with external stakeholders. Qualifications We are seeking a licensed teacher with further education in special education. Experience working as a special education teacher is a plus. You work well collaboratively and can mentor teachers to create conditions for each student to develop. We see it as a given that you encourage shared decision-making, openness, and tolerance. It is important that you can work independently within guidelines and practices, and that you can recommend interventions, document, and participate in decisions. We also see that you foster a respectful work environment and build good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians alike. You do this by being open and approachable, and by listening to your surroundings to understand their needs. Furthermore, you have the ability to remain stable in pressured situations, where you can balance different demands and maintain a positive attitude. Since continuous development occurs in our operations, we would like you to contribute new ideas and perspectives on work-related matters and challenge methods, approaches, and ways of thinking. We welcome your application! This position is filled subject to it not being claimed for internal reasons. Other Information Gothenburg City applies individual and differentiated salary setting.
