Would you like to work alongside colleagues with the same education as you to make a difference for our school's students? We are looking for you—a certified afterschool teacher with teaching credentials in music—who wants to become part of our team! About the Role You will work with our students in special education primary school who study subjects and/or subject areas in grades 1-9. Here you will teach music and work in our afterschool program. The afterschool facility is located adjacent to the special education primary school classrooms, which is beneficial for both students and staff. We are currently reorganizing the afterschool activities at the school, and you will have a great opportunity to help shape how we work going forward. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and documenting instruction in both afterschool and school settings. You will design pedagogical activities so that each individual student's unique conditions and abilities are utilized and challenged according to the afterschool program's mission. For this purpose, you have both individual planning time and collaborative planning with colleagues. At Freja School, we continuously develop both our afterschool program and recess activities. For this development work, there is a dedicated pedagogical meeting time each week. In our activities, we focus on collaborative learning, and you should have interest and engagement in this. We expect you to actively contribute to developing our activities and to enjoy working in a learning organization. About Freja School Freja School is a primary school (grades F-9) and special education primary school (grades 1-9) with an attached afterschool program. The school is beautifully located in Västra Frölunda, close to both nature and the sea. At Freja School, experienced educators work together, and the aim of our activities is to provide all students with good knowledge and skills in a safe and stimulating environment. Freja School focuses on language development work and we are working to improve our recess activities. We have a large, well-equipped library and a librarian who offers programs and activities for both school and afterschool. The school also has a large student support team available to provide assistance when needed. The school's motto is "For Each Other - Together," and we want this to apply to both students and staff. Qualifications Formal Competencies: We are looking for you—someone who is educated and certified as an afterschool teacher with teaching credentials in music. Additionally, you have a special education teacher's degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities, or you have experience teaching students with support needs and are interested in qualifying as a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. You can express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Personal Competencies: We are looking for someone who, through clear leadership, creates a sense of safety for students and, through participation, builds motivation and engagement. You are a person who takes responsibility for both your own and shared work tasks, with the wellbeing of the students and activities in focus. You set clear goals and plan activities well in advance. You work in an organized and systematic manner and ensure that tasks are completed and results are followed up. You have the ability to work together with others to accomplish tasks and reach goals. By showing interest and understanding for others, you promote a respectful work environment. You understand our shared mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the bigger picture. You show respect and consideration for everyone you meet in your professional role, and through an open and positive attitude as your starting point, you contribute to a positive atmosphere.
