About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating and expanding existing ones, and are now seeking additional staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. The Capacity and Analysis Section is responsible for identifying changes in the external environment, driving development and adaptation of the prison service's infrastructure concerning prisons, remand centers, and probation offices in relation to identified needs. The section's overarching mission is to ensure that, in both the short and long term, there is a bed capacity that corresponds with occupancy and client development trends. The section also coordinates the assessment of operational conditions for creating capacity for prison and remand center operations, and coordinates regional and national capacity and occupancy matters while providing effective support for creating additional places. The Capacity and Analysis Section is growing and adapting its organization to fulfill its mission. Work is currently conducted in two groups, an operational and a strategic group, but this division may change depending on how the section's mission evolves. Job Description In your role as an expert at the Capacity and Analysis Section, you will, among other things, work with specifying requirements for upcoming projects based on the prison, remand center, and probation divisions' areas of responsibility and participate in various phases of ongoing capacity expansion projects while ensuring the operational conditions for these projects. This work will be conducted in close collaboration with regional and local levels as well as relevant departments at headquarters. You will conduct risk and gap analyses as well as needs assessments in order to optimize the operation's internal flows and flexible bed utilization while coordinating specific processes related to capacity needs at the national, regional, and local levels. You will receive your own assignments or represent the section, unit, or department in others' assignments. You will also prepare decision-making materials for, particularly, the Department Director of Prisons, Remand Centers and Probation, and agency leadership. Travel is part of the position.
