We also care for patients with tracheostomy and epidural pain relief (EDA). Common conditions include arrhythmias, pulmonary embolism, intoxications, COPD, sepsis, febrile neutropenia, electrolyte disorders, and burn injuries. Average length of stay is approximately 1.5 days. We work in two teams, each consisting of one nurse and one nursing assistant with shared responsibility for four patients. During day and evening shifts, a charge nurse leads daily operations and is also present during daytime on weekends.
