This doctoral position offers advanced training in organic synthesis, with a focus on developing new synthetic methods through the use of, but not limited to, photoredox catalysis. Responsibilities You will primarily dedicate yourself to your doctoral education, which includes participation in research projects as well as doctoral training courses, seminars, and conferences. The responsibilities mainly involve organic synthesis and molecular design, together with purification and characterization using chromatography and spectroscopic techniques such as LC-MS and NMR. You will be responsible for documenting experimental work, analyzing data, and assisting in the completion of scientific manuscripts. Additionally, the role includes planning experiments and presenting research results at group meetings and seminars. The responsibilities may also include participation in teaching and other departmental work (however, no more than 20% of working time). Qualifications To be admitted and employed as a PhD student, you must meet the requirements below. Basic Eligibility Requirements You meet the general eligibility requirements for doctoral education if you have: completed an advanced degree, or completed at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 are at the advanced level, or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means. Specific Eligibility for Organic Chemistry You meet the specific requirements for organic chemistry if you have: at least 15 higher education credits within the subject area, of which at least 7.5 are at the advanced level, and a thesis of at least 30 higher education credits at the advanced level within the subject area, or a degree as a civil engineer in chemical engineering, biotechnology, ecosystem engineering, or technical nanoscience. Finally, the student must be assessed to have the ability required to complete the education. About the Workplace The University Library at Lund University is a highly valuable infrastructure for researchers and students. Throughout the library's more than 350-year history, extensive cultural heritage collections have been built up, spanning more than two thousand years. The library's responsibility as a legal deposit library and its comprehensive support for scientific communication give it a special position both nationally and internationally. The University Library's administrative staff is central support to management and brings together expertise in finance, HR, facilities coordination, management communication, business development, and quality work. In the role of Chief of Staff, you will work closely with operations and contribute to developing structures, working methods, and support that create conditions for a well-functioning organization. As the current manager retires, we are now seeking a Chief of Staff with an HR background who wants to take responsibility for leading and further developing the staff's work. Duties and Responsibilities As head of the staff, you will have personnel and work environment responsibility, certain budget responsibility, and responsibility for driving strategic business planning and follow-up. You lead the department's work and business development with a focus on high-quality administrative support. As a significant part of the Chief of Staff role, strategic and operational HR tasks will also be included. This includes recruitment, rehabilitation management, salary administration, and management support. The staff currently has seven employees with expertise in finance, HR, administration, and operations support. As Chief of Staff, you report directly to the Head Librarian, participate in the library's management group, and collaborate with other administrative managers across the university in the administration manager's management group (UFLG). You also participate in several HR-related collaboration forums. Qualifications Requirements for employment: Academic education in HR/labor science or other education that the employer considers equivalent Experience in management positions with personnel responsibility, including responsibility for work environment and employee development Multiple years of experience in operations-focused HR work in a generalist role Experience with independent responsibility for qualified management support in areas such as employment law, rehabilitation, and recruitment Understanding of how finance, operations, and HR support work together in a government organization Strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English Good leadership and strong ability in strategic thinking, collaboration, and network building You demonstrate leadership characterized by clear communication, responsiveness, and ability to handle complex issues in dialogue with others.
