The Swedish Armed Forces are in an expansion phase and on an extensive growth journey. The Swedish Armed Forces' cyber defense is an integrated part of military defense and constitutes a military strategic resource. Cyber defense has the capability to conduct offensive and defensive cyber operations as well as to detect, identify, and counter threats from the most qualified actors. The effects of a cyber attack can have equally significant consequences for critical societal functions as a conventional armed attack. 2nd Cyber Defense Battalion is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' capability for armed conflict in the cyber domain. We defend the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems through both proactive offensive activities and reactive handling of IT security incidents. Our dimensioned adversaries have substantial resources and high competence, which sets high demands on us to protect these systems. The 2nd Cyber Defense Battalion conducts cyber operations 24/7 year-round to protect Sweden and our allies.
