Job description As a PhD student at the newly established Department of Legal Science, you will have an important active role in building the research environment. PhD students actively participate in national and international research activities. The employee is expected to have high presence at the workplace. Doctoral education in Legal Science comprises 240 higher education credits, corresponding to four years of full-time study. The education concludes with the PhD student defending their doctoral dissertation at a public disputation. The person employed as a PhD student shall dedicate themselves to their own doctoral education. Provisions concerning employment as a PhD student are found in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5, Sections 1-7. As part of the doctoral education, the PhD student shall complete necessary courses according to agreement with their supervisors. Participation in national and international courses and conferences is encouraged and supported. The Higher Education Ordinance stipulates that a person employed as a PhD student shall primarily dedicate themselves to their own education. However, a PhD student may, to a limited extent, work with teaching and administration. Such work shall not exceed 20% of full-time work before the doctoral degree is completed.
