As a nurse in the palliative care advisory team, you will be part of a county-wide team of nurses and physicians in Kalmar County. The palliative care advisory team functions as a supporting resource available to all healthcare personnel throughout the entire care chain in Region Kalmar County, regardless of the patient's diagnosis, age, living situation, or place of residence. The palliative care advisory team offers consultation on individual patient cases as well as education in palliative care. An important part of the work is conducted in the patient's home together with the patient, relatives, and other healthcare providers. The palliative care advisory team offers consultation via telephone, bedside teaching, and video consultations. Travel within the county by car to visit patients and healthcare providers is common. Working hours are Monday through Friday, daytime. Placement locations are Vimmerby and Hultsfred. Would you like to be part of developing care together with us? About You We are looking for an experienced licensed nurse with a strong ability to work independently. You are skilled at collaboration, take your own initiative, and work in a pedagogical manner. You have strong interest and commitment to palliative care. Experience and training in palliative nursing are merits. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A driver's license is required. Your Future Workplace The Unit for Palliative Medicine organizes specialized palliative care in Region Kalmar County. We are divided into different operations to be able to offer high-quality palliative care regardless of the patient's place of residence and care setting. The advisory teams work together with municipal home healthcare services and district physicians. On Ward 30, we provide specialized palliative inpatient care. In our hospital-affiliated home healthcare service, we provide specialized palliative home healthcare in Kalmar and surrounding areas. The palliative care philosophy involves care with a holistic perspective, meaning that physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and existential needs are analyzed and addressed in care. The goal of care is increased quality of life and reduced suffering despite serious illness and approaching death. Our cornerstones are teamwork, communication, family support, and symptom management. The clinic is in constant development and maintains close collaboration with other clinics and healthcare providers. Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an acute care hospital with specialty care, obstetric services, and a maternity ward.
