Unit Manager for the Policy Unit

Description The Forest Department's units work with investigations, development, and monitoring of core processes, external expert participation, support to districts, and direct case handling. The Policy Unit is responsible for the core processes of policy development and sector collaboration. This includes monitoring and developing processes to ensure they function efficiently, with quality assurance, and in line with the Swedish Forest Agency's operational strategy. The Policy Unit has a central role in analyzing, developing, and implementing national and international forest policy to support the Swedish Forest Agency's mission. The unit works in close collaboration with the Government Offices, other authorities, research actors, and forest sector organizations. The unit works with: National and international policy development regarding forest use in the forest sector and society at large, including issues of climate and bioeconomy. Preparation of government assignments and national consultations. Coordination of reporting on the environmental quality objective Living Forests and participation in monitoring other relevant environmental goals. Implementation of the agency's international development cooperation work. Coordination of implementation of regional development and rural policy. Preparing materials and assisting in the agency's planning work. The unit currently has approximately 25 employees working from Hässleholm in the south to Luleå in the north. Working as a Manager at the Swedish Forest Agency As a manager at the Swedish Forest Agency, you have three roles.
