The ward currently has 17 patient beds on weekdays and 12 beds on weekends. The ward has close collaboration with other wards/clinics within our operational area. Endocrine Oncology is a ward within the hematology and oncology operational area located in the 100 building. Some of the most common oncological endocrinological diagnoses are neuroendocrine tumors (NET), neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), and thyroid cancer. These are treated with targeted radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy/immunotherapy. The most common oncological diagnosis with us is lymphoma, where our specialty is CAR-T treatment – a treatment where the patient's own T-cells are genetically modified to attack cancer. With us, you will work with medical technology including central and peripheral infusions, chemotherapy, and immunotherapies. Our Operations The Eye Clinic is one of the hospital's largest outpatient departments with approximately 45,000 visitors per year. The Eye Clinic is a pleasant workplace with a large patient flow. Our Operations At Hematology Department 101A, we care for patients with blood diseases, such as leukemias and myeloma. Here, highly specialized care is provided with a focus on both medical quality and person-centered nursing care. We care for patients throughout the entire care process – from investigation to intensive treatment and, for some patients, blood stem cell transplantation or CAR T-cell therapy. Stem cell transplantation is one of our specialty areas and we are accredited according to the European quality assurance standard JACIE. The work is varied and medically advanced. You work with, among other things, central lines, cytostatic drugs, immunotherapy, infection-fighting medications, and transfusions of blood components. Monitoring and assessment of patients in connection with advanced treatments is also included. At the same time, nursing care is a central part of the work. We support patients and loved ones throughout the entire care process. Many treatments last several weeks and recur over time, which means that we get to know our patients well and follow them through much of their treatment journey. We work in multidisciplinary teams where nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and other professionals collaborate closely. Thanks to the specialized care, we have a high nurse-to-patient ratio and you will have an experienced nurse as your mentor during your first year. JACIE accreditation means that we work in a structured manner with clear procedures and checklists for all activities. This creates security for you as a nurse, contributes to safe care for patients, and gives us good conditions to continuously develop and improve our operations. We are looking for you who • Are a nursing student starting term 6 this year. • Are interested in hematology and want to start working at Hematology Department 101A after completing your degree. • Are responsible, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. We offer • Permanent employment as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your nursing license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse. Your new position will involve full-time work with rotation of day, evening, and night shifts. Night shift rotation begins once you have become accustomed to the work and after discussion with your manager. • You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. • There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant or nursing care assistant during your studies, but it is not required. When your position is converted to nurse, you will receive: • An individually tailored introduction of approximately five weeks that follows the department's introduction and training program. • Follow-up with the assistant department manager and education nurse during the introduction. • Full-day hematology training during your initial time with us. • Weekly physician lectures on disease and treatments. • A workplace with a high nurse-to-patient ratio. • An engaged work team where we help each other, learn from one another, and where there is an open atmosphere. • Opportunity for continued professional development, including through the Cancer Care Academy and the possibility of paid specialist training.
