Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates certain open health and medical care services, which means that all correctional facilities and detention centers have health clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, the clinics also have general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, and you will also determine which patients should see a doctor. This means you work with both physical and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at medical clinics, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. This fall, we moved into the newly built psychiatric building on the hospital grounds in Västervik, where we have now consolidated all adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry in the same building.
