Labor Market Coach with Business Focus

With us, you'll have a varied role where you move between the public sector and the business community, building bridges between people and employers. A lot is happening in the municipal labor market world right now, and we need to strengthen our unit with a labor market coach with a focus on business. We are a relatively small unit in a relatively small municipality, and therefore there are good opportunities to help shape the structure and work so that it is best adapted to the individuals who are part of our target group. Our unit includes a manager, labor market coaches, mentors, and an administrator. You will be one of our two labor market coaches. You will work closely together but also be responsible for your own cases and processes. Your role will focus more on job placement, and this is where we believe you have good skills to establish contacts in the local business community. A central part of the assignment is to establish and maintain contact with employers in order to create opportunities for internships, work training, or supported employment, such as wage subsidies. To succeed in the role, you need an understanding of opportunities in the labor market and the ability to see the situation from both the job seeker's and the employer's perspective. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Examples of job responsibilities: • Map the individual's strengths, needs, and goals based on work capacity • Develop and follow up individual action plans with clear goals and activities • Motivate and support individuals toward work, studies, or other measures that lead to self-sufficiency • Collaborate with employers, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, healthcare, and other actors • Establish and maintain contact with employers • Handle and advise on employment law issues and employment contracts in collaboration with employers and authorities • Match participants with employers for internships or supported employment • Document and follow up on the individual's development and adjust measures as needed QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who sees the potential and possibilities in the individuals you meet. You are motivated by supporting and guiding people in and toward development. Your commitment and positive attitude permeate your character. You have good social and communication skills, are relationship-building, and actively work to maintain good relationships and build trust. You are pedagogical, confident, and clear in your role in your daily work with individuals and can adapt to changing circumstances. You enjoy working with people and are good at organizing and planning your time. You should be able to work independently and take your own initiatives. The work places high demands on flexibility, thoroughness, collaboration skills, and the ability to structure and plan work. To succeed in your role, you need good computer skills and documentation ability, good communication skills in Swedish both spoken and written, and hold a valid Swedish driver's license. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. The following are considered advantageous: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, occupational therapist, behavioral science, pedagogy, HR, or other education that the employer considers equivalent • Good knowledge of employment law and previous experience working with employment contracts and employer issues • Experience with employer contacts or collaboration with the business sector • Knowledge of the labor market and society's support measures • Experience with the Labor Market Unit's target group • Experience with Lifecare or similar activity management systems • Knowledge and experience of BIP (Employment Indicator Project) • Knowledge and experience of the Supported Employment method Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: Start date: 2026-10-01 Start date by agreement , End date: 2027-09-30. The position is part of a project planned to continue for another two years. After that, there is a good chance of extension. The project is carried out in collaboration with the partner organizations Economic Assistance (Social Services), the Swedish Public Employment Service, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, with the aim of developing and implementing a new working method for the Labor Market Unit's target group. Location: Valdemarsvik is an archipelago municipality in southern Östergötland with approximately 7,500 inhabitants. The town center of Valdemarsvik is located right by Valdemarsviken, and from the office it only takes a couple of minutes to reach the water. There are good bus connections from Norrköping and Söderköping, and all parking spaces are free.
