The Occupational and Behavioral Medicine Center (AB-Center) is a university healthcare unit whose overarching mission is to prevent, investigate, assess, and address work-, environment-, and lifestyle-related health problems. The AB-Center employs approximately 65 staff members across departments: Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AMM); Behavioral Medicine (BM); Stress Rehabilitation (SR); and the Insurance Medicine Investigation Unit (FMU). We are now seeking an additional physician for Stress Rehabilitation and Behavioral Medicine. At Stress Rehabilitation, patients with stress-related health problems are assessed, treated, and rehabilitated, typically with exhaustion syndrome, with the goal of improving the patient's health, function, and work capacity. The Behavioral Medicine department assesses and treats lifestyle habits in people with obesity or overweight at high risk of developing diabetes or cardiovascular disease, and also offers tobacco cessation support. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a physician with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that helps patients and colleagues feel secure. In your role as specialist physician/senior physician at Stress Rehabilitation, you meet with patients for assessments and follow-up visits. You actively participate in patient rehabilitation according to our multimodal rehabilitation approach. Work is carried out both independently and in a multiprofessional team with various professional groups. In Behavioral Medicine, you conduct medical assessments of patients with obesity and health concerns related to increased risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. You participate in treatment, monitor medication, and help ensure good and safe care for patients. The work is varied and you work both independently and in teams. You also work in a preventive capacity through education, information, and counseling, and are expected to contribute to collaboration within and outside Region Västerbotten. Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The center provides care with various aspects of investigation, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat and jaw surgery in focus. The center is a regional clinic where highly specialized care is provided for patients from the entire northern health care region, and conducts research, education and development. Neurosurgery has both planned and acute operations where the patient is always in focus. We have a large patient flow with both short and longer care periods. We assist the entire northern health care region with highly specialized neurosurgical care 24 hours a day, year-round. We handle, for example, treatment of skull trauma, brain hemorrhages and intracranial and spinal tumors. We also have a large number of procedures within functional neurosurgery. At the unit, active research is conducted in movement disorders including DBS, subarachnoid hemorrhage and malignant brain tumors.
