Personal Assistant 70-75%, Start by September at the Latest
Are you a reliable and loyal person who enjoys a varied schedule, approximately 6-7 day shifts & 3-4 awake night shifts per month? Do you have some form of experience in care and support, whether from work or personal life? Perhaps you're newly graduated or a student? Then we think you should keep reading! It's difficult for me to summarize the role of my personal assistant and everything it entails. This is because personal assistance is personal and is based on individual circumstances and needs. At the same time, my life is as multifaceted as yours when it comes to emotions, interests, and activities. To give you some clues, my interests vary depending on the season. I enjoy everything from swimming in my pool, cooking & running with my marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts, and the gym to give you some hints. Although it's difficult to summarize as mentioned, here's an explanation of who I'm looking for… A role as a personal assistant is varied, but with me you can think that your role broadly starts from these three parts; 1. You help me with all basic needs with great sensitivity for privacy and respect. 2. You are my physical support, which means it's an advantage for you if you yourself care about your health and enjoy exercising in your free time. 3. You are my engine in everyday life and, together with me and your colleague, have responsibility for planning activities and following routines. These three parts of your professional role should be characterized by you being kind, empathetic, and communicative, because that's how collaboration works best. I myself am about 25 years old, my team is young, everyone is about 20–30 years old. I want to live as active and social a life as possible, and even though I can't run on my legs, I roll forward in the races I participate in. It's important that you are active and share my interests. I want as active a life as possible based on my life situation! My life can be described as a roller coaster— some days I have a lot of energy, other days I'm in great need of rest and recreation. My epilepsy is complex and you'll learn everything you need to know during the introduction; it's not a requirement but a merit if you have experience with personal assistance. However, you do need to have a good understanding of what your professional role entails. Flexibility is important to be able to adapt the days based on my needs. My assistants always arrive well-rested, patient, and bring themselves regardless of what conditions or obstacles I encounter in everyday life. I'm looking for you who thinks the same way and doesn't view me as your patient. I require high work ethic, which for you means you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also calm and understand that your contribution is vital to me; understanding relationship-building and variety in my life creates the best conditions for both of us. Personal assistance means living a meaningful life with self-determination, which you contribute to through interaction. The role of personal assistant means helping another person live their life, which includes being able to leave your own feelings and opinions outside of work, being interested in learning new ways of communicating, and at the same time understanding that I, just like you, have emotions that vary. I want you to be equally engaged regardless of what I want to do or need. Feel free to share your interests and join in my positive and happy moments! We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Developing a relationship doesn't happen overnight, so I'm looking for you who really wants to do the best for me by getting to know me and understands that long-term commitment is key to success. Previous experience is not a requirement even though it's of course meritorious; regardless, understanding the role is what weighs most heavily. Being able to work in a structured and organized manner is essential to create security and predictability for me; furthermore, I value you being proactive and able to work creatively and motivatingly together with me. Below are some practical conditions for the role: · Start date by arrangement, but no later than September. You'll start with an introductory schedule and then be offered your own schedule. I have 24-hour assistance approved; you'll never work 24-hour shifts but it's important to know that you'll be awake during the night. You have a good understanding and insight into what it means to reverse your sleep cycle and be able to sleep during the day, so you come refreshed and well-rested to me regardless of work time. If you don't have previous night shift experience, you're of course also welcome to apply; just remember that a night job doesn't mean your day becomes 24 hours. · Work shifts with me can be full days 08.00-20.00, mornings 5–7 hours, and afternoons 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20.00–08.00. · The introduction always starts with day shifts with me. This way we get to know each other properly and you learn as much as possible about my life. It's also nice and important that you get to know my other friends (assistants) so that everyone can work together. · Any preferences, I'd like you to specify already in your application, thanks! · I unfortunately cannot employ people with pet allergies or tobacco users (including substitutes such as white snus and e-cigarettes). · Fluent Swedish proficiency in speech and writing is a requirement, as is swimming ability. Do you feel that you fit what's expected? Then I think you have a good chance of becoming a friend on my team as long as you're 18 years old. Please note that only complete applications will be considered! Your application should contain the following; 1. Personal letter— tell us, among other things, why you want to work as a personal assistant and what makes you a suitable candidate 2. CV— up-to-date and complete. A photo of yourself is of course included here. 3. Good references & background check excerpts are required and will be requested! Please note that the position will be filled as soon as we find the right candidate, which may therefore be before the final application date. Collective agreement via Fremia is offered. NOTE! I politely but firmly decline advertisements or applications through recruitment companies.
