Nursing Assistant with Dementia Care Specialization

On Gotland, there are several specialized residential facilities distributed across six locations. We who work here have the mission to help elderly individuals around the clock with various services to create conditions for a meaningful and dignified life. Syrengården is a dementia care home centrally located in Roma, approximately two miles from Visby. The facility has 19 places distributed on two floors. Here there is a large garden with walking paths, a pavilion, and proximity to forest. Syrengården is certified according to Silviahemmets care philosophy. At our facility, nursing assistants, residential assistants, nurses, unit manager, and rehabilitation staff work closely together. Now we are looking for new nursing assistants who want to become part of our team! Your Work Tasks As a nursing assistant, you will among other things: - Perform customary care tasks such as personal care, household management, medication administration, and other delegated healthcare services, with a focus on safety and continuity. - Contribute to a meaningful and individualized everyday life through accompaniment, activities, and social interaction. - Work with a calm and respectful approach based on each person's cognitive ability and condition of the day. - Participate in and provide palliative care as well as support both residents and family members at the end of life. - Work based on IBIC and person-centered care with focus on the individual's needs, habits, and life history. - Serve as a contact person, including establishing and following up on care plans. - Document, maintain contact with family members, and handle certain administrative tasks. - Collaborate with the unit manager, nurse, and rehabilitation staff to provide safe care. - Be involved in developing work methods and procedures in the operation. - Be flexible and support other departments when needed, for example within somatic care. - Work day shifts, evening shifts, and every other weekend. For the position as nursing assistant in specialized residential care, the starting salary range is 29,000–34,000 kronor per month. We apply individual salary setting. Final salary is determined based on education, relevant experience, competence and responsibility in the role as well as in accordance with applicable collective agreements. Who Are You? For employment as a nursing assistant, you must have the right to use the protected occupational title according to applicable regulations. It is meritorious to have further training in dementia care, such as Silviastern, Dementia ABC/ABC Plus, BPSD, Stjärnmärkt, person-centered care, low-affective approach, or palliative care. Experience with mentoring and competency development is also meritorious. As a person, you are stable, confident, and show genuine commitment in your professional role. You are proactive and take responsibility for driving the work forward, while being flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of the operation and residents. You have good cooperation skills and actively contribute to a positive work environment where you together create safety and quality in care. You are also relationship-building and develop trusting relationships with residents, family members, and colleagues. With a development-oriented approach, you contribute to improving work methods and quality in the operation, while sharing knowledge and supporting your colleagues in daily work. As part of the employment process, a valid certificate from the Police Register, called "Work in homes with elderly and persons with disabilities," must be presented.
