Student Assistant

Description We are now seeking a responsible and warm student assistant to join our team in 2nd grade at Färila School. In this role, you have a special and important mission: to be the primary support for a student with type 1 diabetes. You will be the student's safe point during the school day and ensure that medical care runs smoothly, while also supporting the student and class in pedagogical and social matters. In this role, it is important that you can remain calm in stressful moments and quickly assess the student's well-being and condition. You understand the importance of consistent routines around medication and diet, and you work well with children, guardians, teachers, and the school nurse. Responsibilities You monitor blood sugar levels, assist with insulin dosing via medical devices, and respond quickly to fluctuations. You support the student individually during lessons and help the entire class in small groups and during leisure time. During breaks, you provide support during recess and at lunch, where carbohydrate counting and meal routines are an important part. Qualifications For this position, you must have experience with type 1 diabetes (in children or adults). It is highly advantageous if you have experience working with younger children, preferably in a school or after-school setting. We also view it as a plus if you have education in healthcare, pedagogy, or as a student assistant. Great emphasis is placed on personal maturity and suitability. We welcome your application!
