The Social Services Department in Haparanda is embarking on an exciting development journey. We are now seeking an engaged, confident, and strategic Assistant Director of Social Services who wants to help develop welfare and create the best possible conditions for our residents, employees, and managers. As Assistant Director of Social Services, you will have a central role in the department's leadership and development. Your assignment The role does not include direct personnel responsibility with subordinate managers or employees. The formal management and employer responsibility rests with the Director of Social Services, with the exception of situations where you act as the Director's substitute. You will be part of the Social Services Department's management group and work closely with the Director of Social Services, operations managers, and support functions such as the medical responsible nurse and quality developer. You also have an important role in contributing to a well-functioning interaction between the administration and political bodies. This means supporting the Director of Social Services in preparing, implementing, and following up on political decisions, as well as translating the Social Board's goals and priorities into clear leadership, governance, and development in the operations. You have good knowledge of the social services' mandate, legislation, and conditions, as well as experience in leadership, governance, and development work in a politically controlled organization. It is meritorious if you have management experience within social services, elderly care, support for people with disabilities, child and family services, or other municipal operations. The position is newly established due to new legal requirements and is organizationally placed directly under the Social Director. The assignment involves close and continuous collaboration with the Medical Director Nurse (MAS). The position is a full-time role where part of the assignment consists of the role as Medical Director for Rehabilitation (MAR), while the remaining part involves support at an overarching level within the administration. Since the role is new, the content of the assignment will be shaped and developed over time. About the Role As Medical Director for Rehabilitation (MAR), you have overall responsibility for quality and safety within the rehabilitation area of our operations. You are a key person in strategic quality work and contribute to ensuring our patients receive good, safe, and evidence-based rehabilitation. The position involves close collaboration with management, operations, and other professions within health and medical care, social services, and administration.
