Here, approximately twenty students from different parts of the country live and study, primarily residing at our adjacent residential care home. We also have students who commute to and from school daily from the surrounding area. We provide instruction in very small groups within three school forms: primary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The students at our school often have one or more diagnoses within the autism spectrum, which we meet with individualized instruction that few other schools have the opportunity to offer. The school has a very high staff-to-student ratio and we work in small groups or with individual instruction in a school environment adapted to the students' needs. Dormsjö School is beautifully situated by a lake, just outside Garpenberg. The school is owned by a non-profit foundation that has been located here for over 60 years. We have excellent resources including our own sports hall, forge, music room, auditorium, and gymnasium. However, it is the less visible conditions that truly form the school's strength. Here, every student experiences the security and structure they specifically need. Here, every student is seen and heard by dedicated staff who are there for the students' sake. About the Position You will work as a music teacher in classes with 3–6 students. You will be part of a team together with other teachers and support staff. The team consists of colleagues with varying backgrounds and expertise, but with a common goal – to create the best possible conditions for our students. The position is fundamentally a part-time employment. If you also have qualifications to teach other subjects, there is an opportunity to combine the position, for example as a music teacher and class teacher, which could result in a full-time position. We maintain frequent contact through daily morning meetings and short decision-making channels. Because we are a well-staffed school, you need to be comfortable with other staff members often being present during your instruction.
