Occupational Therapist
Do you want to be part of our rehabilitation team?
We offer meaningful work with many personal interactions and varied working days! Here you will meet different tasks and patient groups who have been granted short-term stays. From rehabilitation of stroke patients to helping patients manage their daily lives independently and enabling suitable housing that promotes independence in everyday life. We make a difference, every day! Karlshamns Municipality can offer you a rewarding position as an Occupational Therapist in a well-functioning work group. We have high engagement and a great sense of community in our work, all in a learning and supportive environment.
We are undergoing the transformation necessary for good and accessible healthcare, and demographics show increasing care needs. For some time now, we have restructured our working methods and organization based on the goal of sustainable working conditions and patient safety over time. We have organized ourselves around functional assignments. We have a shared care queue and together with rehabilitation colleagues we handle and prioritize incoming care needs. The work is structured and at the same time independent. We are guided by the principle of equal care regardless of living situation or geographic area. The work consists of both teamwork with shared assessments and independent work based on priority, competence, and scope.
Duties
The assignment includes responsibility for:
Patient work with assessments, prescriptions, and trial provision based on the prescription process. Person-centered healthcare where the patient has significant participation in the goals of our interventions.
Interprofessional collaboration based on needs in the current patient case and conditions, for example with nurses, quality assistant nurses, occupational therapists, unit managers, assistant nurses, case officers internally. But also with external actors and care providers.
Leading in your profession. We work extensively through care staff whom you lead, support, and motivate through your knowledge.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed Occupational Therapist.
You must have good oral and written communication skills in Swedish at the level required to perform regular work tasks.
For this role you must have a B driver's license (manual transmission) as patient work involves home visits throughout Karlshamns Municipality.
It is advantageous if you have experience in the profession, municipal rehabilitation and/or similar activities as well as with other care providers.
For this position we value good cooperation skills, flexibility, thoroughness, and commitment to the assignment based on applicable laws and agreements. Decisive weight is placed on personal suitability.
About the Workplace
You have independent work based on your profession and assignment, where you plan your own day—no two days are the same, which is one of the attractions of our work. We are a great group of just over 20 people working with our shared mission. We help each other and we would like to welcome you to us! We work with continuous improvements based on working conditions and patient safety where you can contribute to our transformation toward good and accessible healthcare.
As an employee of Karlshamns Municipality, you will have access to the Staff Club's offerings including discounts, offers, and training and activities. As an employee, you also have the opportunity to exchange your vacation day supplement for additional vacation days.
