Medical Director for Rehabilitation - MAR

At Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 city districts are creative meeting places that bubble with life. Here we want things, talk about them, and come as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way. Welcome to join the journey! The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels secure and has equal opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respect for individuals' right to self-determination, we are responsible for three important areas: care and elderly care, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is that everyone receives the support and care they need. Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and decisive that these values are just as self-evident for you as they are for us in our work. The Workplace The Social Services Department in Trelleborg is seeking a Medical Director for Rehabilitation (MAR) for the Quality and Development Department. Here you will have a strategic and operational role where you, in close collaboration with the Medical Director of Nursing (MAS), managers, and staff, contribute to patient-safe practices, clear processes, and rehabilitation that strengthens the individual's ability for independence and participation. The Quality and Development Department's mission is to deliver operationally close services to residents, staff, and politicians. The department provides services in administration, legal affairs, welfare technology, and system management, as well as operational and competence development. With us, you will have a meaningful assignment in an organization where quality, collaboration, and development are central. You will be part of a department with broad expertise and cross-functional responsibilities, and you will have the opportunity to shape how the MAR function develops. In your assignment, you are responsible for developing, establishing, and following up routines, processes, and internal controls that strengthen quality in operations and contribute to safe and appropriate care in accordance with laws, regulations, and local governance documents. You work systematically with analyzing deviations, risks, and complaints, and identify and initiate improvement measures. Together with the MAS, you participate in investigation and management of serious healthcare injuries or risks for healthcare injuries. An important part of the assignment is to support managers, licensed personnel, and care staff through advice, training initiatives, and methodological support. You also contribute to creating safe care transitions by promoting collaboration, information transfer, and work with coordinated individual planning (SIP). Furthermore, you participate in the preparation of patient safety reports, quality follow-ups, and the department's strategic development work. Through your work, you actively contribute to the Social Services Department's development toward more preventive, knowledge-based, and person-centered approaches. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed physical therapist or occupational therapist. You have several years of experience in qualified rehabilitation work and good knowledge of municipal healthcare, patient safety, quality, and collaboration. You have a good understanding of the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), the Social Services Act (SoL), patient safety legislation, and management systems for systematic quality work. You have experience working with routines, processes, deviations, risk analyses, internal controls, or improvement work. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good digital skills. It is meritorious if you have experience as MAR or in another expert/quality-focused role in municipal healthcare, as well as experience with assistive device processes, SIP, discharge cooperation, quality registers, and training initiatives. Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you are a strategic and analytical person who can see the big picture, identify risks, and prioritize the right development and improvement initiatives. You work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, with the ability to translate legal requirements, guidelines, and identified improvement areas into clear and sustainable practices. You have an easy time building trusting relationships and enjoy collaborating with both managers and staff as well as external partners. With pedagogical and communication skills, you can explain complex issues clearly and create understanding and engagement in the organization. As a person, you are confident in your expert role and make well-founded decisions with good judgment. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respect for individuals' right to determine their own lives, we are responsible for three important areas: care and elderly care, support for people with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. Our goal is that everyone should receive the support and care they need. Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values are as natural to you as they are to us in our work. The Workplace Do you want to help develop Trelleborg Municipality's accessible entry point to the Social Services Department's support and services as well as care? We are now seeking a social advisor, where you will be an important first point of contact for residents, relatives, and others seeking information, guidance, and support. The workplace, Kompassen, is centrally located in Trelleborg, a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. With us, you work in an operation focused on accessibility, service, and preventive measures. You meet people with different needs and life situations, provide guidance, and help them find the right support at the right time. The role involves close collaboration with the Social Services Department's various operations and other parts of the municipality, which requires a holistic perspective, good collaboration skills, and professional conduct. We offer varied and meaningful work where every day you contribute to making it easier for residents to get the right help and support. Together, we develop working methods, service, and cooperation to create a modern, accessible, and preventive social service. Welcome to become part of our work to make the Social Services Department more accessible to Trelleborg's residents. Duties As a social advisor at Kompassen, you are an important part of the Social Services Department's "One Point of Entry". You receive and professionally treat residents, relatives, and others seeking information, guidance, or support within social services or care. The role involves creating security and helping people find the right support at the right time. Based on the individual's situation, you guide them to possible measures within the Social Services Department's services. You meet people through personal visits, phone, email, and digital contact channels. The work includes both providing basic social advice directly as well as determining when the help a resident wants requires an application. You can both give advice and support directly as well as practically help people use the municipality's e-services and contact channels to register interest in relevant support measures. The role requires that you can see the whole picture of an individual's situation while having good knowledge of the Social Services Department's various operations and measures. You work closely with colleagues within social services, care, and elderly care, and collaborate with other actors to create an accessible and service-oriented entry point to the municipality's support measures. Qualifications We are looking for you who have higher education or other post-secondary education that the employer considers relevant, for example in social work, care and elderly care, behavioral science, public administration, or other education related to the job's field of work. You have professional experience from social services, care and elderly care, municipal healthcare, disability support, or other operations where you have met people with different needs for support and help. You have the ability to meet people based on a low-affective approach and good conversation methodology. You have good knowledge of social services' various responsibilities for different target groups and the ability to distinguish between when measures can be provided without prior needs assessment or when a measure needs to be provided as assistance. It is meritorious if you have training in conversation methodology and/or low-affective approach. We are looking for you who have good ability to communicate in Swedish in speech and writing and feel comfortable using digital tools and navigating different systems and information sources. We place great emphasis on your personal competencies. You are service-oriented, attentive, and have professional conduct. You have the ability to build trust in meeting people in different life situations and can explain complex information in a simple and understandable way. You remain calm in challenging conversations and meet people with respect, empathy, and clarity. Furthermore, you work in a structured and responsible manner, collaborate well with others, and take independent responsibility for your work tasks. We also see that you are curious and development-oriented, with a strong focus on the individual's needs and a willingness to contribute to developing the municipality's service and accessibility.
