In Trelleborg, we work together to build a thriving municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 city districts are creative meeting places that buzz with life. Here we take action, speak about it, and come as we are. This is why we welcome others in the same generous and curious way. Welcome to join us on this journey! The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels secure and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be active and engaged in society. With a focus on respect for individuals' right to self-determination, we are responsible for three important areas: care and health services, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is that everyone receives the support and care they need. Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values are as self-evident for you as they are for us in our work. The Workplace Within the Department for Disability Support, there are group living facilities, service housing, service provisions, day activities, children's and youth housing, and short-term and leisure activities conducted according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) and relevant authority decisions for each individual user. The department also includes sociopsychiatric services conducted according to the Social Services Act (SoL). Our workplaces are located in Trelleborg city and urban areas, and some services operate in the municipality's villages and rural areas. This position is for a group living facility where you work with adults and elderly people with intellectual and/or other disabilities as well as extensive care needs. At all workplaces within disability support services, you will be welcomed by good colleagues and offered internal competence development based on workplace and personal needs. As an employee, you also have access to municipality-wide benefits. Job Responsibilities As a support pedagogue, you work closely with residents and provide support and services based on individual needs, wishes, and circumstances with the goal of strengthening independence, participation, and quality of life. The work is based on current authority decisions and each resident's implementation plan and is characterized by a pedagogical, structured, and low-arousal approach as well as clear and respectful communication. You provide daily support in areas such as care and hygiene, meals, skills training, and leisure activities—always with a focus on creating security, structure, and predictability for the resident. In addition to direct work with residents, you as a support pedagogue have special pedagogical responsibility within the work team. You guide and mentor colleagues in work methods, practices, and interactions, and contribute to ensuring that implementation plans are followed, developed, and put into practice. You are an important resource in creating clear routines and quality-assured work methods that support both residents and staff. Part of the role is also to monitor developments, acquire new knowledge and methods for the target group, and translate this into mentoring that strengthens the service's quality and colleagues' competence. In this role, you contribute to good cooperation where the resident's best interests are always at the center. The work is guided by the resident's right to participation, influence, and development in daily work. Together, you work to continuously develop the service and achieve set goals within the LSS framework. Do you want to make a difference in people's daily lives—and at the same time contribute to development, quality, and learning in the work team? Then we want you to apply for the position of support pedagogue! Qualifications For the role of support pedagogue, we are looking for someone with a qualification as a support pedagogue (200 YH credit hours), or alternatively another relevant post-secondary education of at least 200 YH credit hours or higher education of at least 60 credits in areas such as pedagogy, social work, psychiatry, or behavioral science. You have experience working within disability support according to LSS and are familiar with working with groups such as people with intellectual disabilities. It is meritorious if you have experience with extensive support and care needs, as well as elderly people receiving support according to LSS. You work safely and in a structured manner using low-arousal approaches, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication, and you have good computer skills and documentation experience. The position also requires that you express yourself very well in Swedish both verbally and in writing. A Class B driver's license is required for a manual transmission vehicle, as driving is part of the job. It is meritorious if you have experience planning and following up resident activities using the IBIC model, working with challenging behavior, or TAKK. As a person, you are stable, confident, and self-aware. You are attentive and responsible, work well with both residents and colleagues, and adapt easily when circumstances change. You are solution-focused, analytical, and curious, with a willingness to contribute to development and increased quality in daily work. Security Requirements: Before an offer of employment, you must provide an acceptable certificate from the police criminal record registry along with identity documents. We offer meaningful and developmental work where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. If you are an engaged and responsible person who wants to work with support and care, this is a role for you! Working Hours Rotating schedule with shifts covering day/evening/weekends.
