Job Duties The duties of a guest lecturer consist mainly of teaching at undergraduate and advanced levels as well as supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. We have needs for teaching in courses in statistics, empirical economics, development economics, and econometrics. Teaching and supervision will primarily be conducted in English. The work also includes planning and preparation of teaching, course administration, student contact, and grading of examinations and other assessment tasks. Teaching in other subject areas within economics may also be relevant during the year. Qualifications The positions are intended to strengthen the research connection of the education programs and contribute to increased internationalization. We are therefore seeking active researchers in economics with research interests related to the relevant teaching areas. Own research relevant to education and international experience are merits. A doctoral degree in economics or equivalent is required for employment as a guest lecturer at the department. Strong ability to teach and supervise in English is a requirement. You must have previous experience teaching economics and be pedagogically skilled in order to communicate with the department's students in a clear and pedagogical manner. It is a merit if you have taught similar courses previously. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. For this position, it is important to have good collaboration skills and you should be able to work both independently and in a group as you will collaborate with other teachers. By combining qualitative and quantitative methods and integrating climate, migration, and socioeconomic data, the project aims to develop a new analytical framework for studying climate-related migration. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other researchers and international partners within CLIMIG. Qualifications The position requires a doctoral degree in cultural geography, development studies, migration studies, social anthropology, or another subject that the employer considers relevant to the project. You must have documented experience in research on climate-related migration or related issues, as well as very strong competence in quantitative social science methods and statistical analysis, and also qualitative data collection and analysis. Experience with research in the Andes, Ethiopia, and/or Nepal is advantageous. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to develop their own research projects and actively engage in writing and publishing scientific articles, presenting research at international conferences, and applying for external research funding. The position is fully funded. Qualifications Qualifications for employment as a teacher are regulated in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and Gothenburg University's employment regulations.
