Family Care Coordinator - Social Worker / Behavioral Scientist

WORK DUTIES As a family care coordinator, you have a central role in creating safe and sustainable placements for children and young people. You are responsible for a number of foster families and contact and support families, providing them with continuous support, advice, and guidance in their assignments. The work involves, among other things, that you: • supervise and support foster families and contact and support families • follow up on the conditions and support needs of the homes • recruit and assess new foster families and contact and support families • receive placement requests and participate in matching children with families • train and prepare families for their assignments • collaborate closely with the child's social worker and other important parties around the child • document and ensure quality of work in accordance with applicable legislation, guidelines, and the best interests of the child. You work in close collaboration with responsible social workers and other groups within Children and Youth. Cooperation and shared responsibility are important parts of our work. The family care group uses its own developed method for assessing foster families based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's recommendations and regulations. The group also trains foster families through the National Board of Health and Welfare's basic training Ett hem att växa i and conducts group supervision and other educational initiatives. The work is both independent and relationship-building. You meet families in different situations and need to be able to provide support even when the assignment is challenging. At the same time, you have the opportunity to follow the foster families' development and contribute to stability and good living conditions for placed children. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other university education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant for the assignment. It is meritorious if you have: • experience in foster care or other social work with children and young people • experience in assessing, supervising, or providing support to foster families • Supervisor training focused on foster families and contact families • knowledge of BBIC and current legislation in the social services area • training in or experience with foster care assessment methodology, foster family scenarios, and/or Ett hem att växa i • good ability to document and express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. Above all, you have knowledge of children's needs and a strong commitment to ensuring that placed children and young people receive safety, stability, and good opportunities to develop. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Because the position involves travel and home visits, a B driver's license is required.
