Postdoctoral Researcher in X-ray and Neutron Characterization of Metals in Additive Manufacturing

Responsibilities The Department of Materials Science is offering a postdoctoral position focused on in-situ and ex-situ synchrotron and neutron characterization of metallic materials processed using laser and electron beam techniques, particularly within additive manufacturing (AM), welding, and heat treatment. The position centers on a specially designed sample environment developed at the Swedish beamline at PETRA III, beamline P21.2, where both electron beam and laser processing can be studied in real-time under controlled conditions. The postdoctoral researcher will further develop the methodology for applying this experimental setup in close collaboration with internal and external partners, and will use it to generate new knowledge about metal behavior during rapid thermal cycles, such as those occurring in AM or laser welding. Beyond synchrotron experiments, the position will include work with complementary characterization methods to create a comprehensive understanding of microstructural evolution and mechanical properties. Through a combination of advanced in-situ studies and ex-situ analyses, the project aims to deepen understanding of phase transformations, melt pool dynamics, solidification, and properties of processed materials in end-use applications, for example by studying their behavior under quasistatic or cyclic loading. This research is central to enabling the development of new materials and process solutions that can support sustainable industrial development, for example in manufacturing or energy production. The results generated will be important for developing circular material flows where scrap is reduced and recycled raw materials can be used more frequently. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at large-scale research infrastructure, develop measurement methodologies and data analysis for real-time studies, and collaborate closely with both academic and industrial partners, nationally and internationally, to address important material and process questions. The postdoctoral researcher will play a key role in driving research on electron beam and laser processing of metals and their final properties. Qualifications Requirements Completed PhD or equivalent foreign degree in materials science or a related field for the proposed research. This qualification requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. Research experience in characterization within materials science, particularly synchrotron and neutron characterization such as diffraction, small-angle scattering (WAXS, SAXS, ND, SANS, etc.), and imaging, demonstrated through a portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and international conference presentations. Ability to express yourself very well in English, both spoken and written, as this will be required in daily work. You are self-driven with a strong ability to take initiative and drive projects. As a person, you have well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities and enjoy taking responsibility. You have strong collaborative skills, including the ability to lead and support research. Meritorious At the application deadline, no more than three years since obtaining your PhD or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. Extensive experience with data analysis for synchrotron or neutron characterization of metallic materials. Experience with characterization of mechanical behavior, phase transformations, and/or precipitations in metallic materials. Experience with electron beam and/or laser processing of metallic materials. Experience with lab-scale characterization of metallic materials, such as SEM. Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with particular focus on gender equality. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. Operations Manager at Sue Ellen

We're looking for you who wants to run a restaurant. For real. Sue Ellen is a solid, personal and unpretentious neighborhood restaurant on Tulegatan in Vasastan. Here we serve lunch, à la carte, quality drinks and genuine hospitality. We have a restaurant, a large bar, events, an appreciated courtyard – and our own distillery in the house. Now we're taking the next step. And that's why we're looking for an Operations Manager who wants to make their mark on Sue Ellen. This is not a desk job We're not looking for someone who wants to stand on the sidelines and administer the business. You're part of the operations, work in service and are where things happen – among the guests and with the team. At the same time, you have overall operational responsibility for the restaurant. You lead people, create structure and ensure we deliver genuinely great hospitality – every day. And perhaps most importantly: you get to be part of building something. We're currently doing a restart of the operational organization and in many ways starting from scratch. We're therefore not looking for someone who just wants to maintain what already exists. We want to find you – someone who sees opportunities, comes up with ideas and wants to develop how we work together. What will you do? As Operations Manager you get clear overall responsibility for daily operations. This includes: leading and distributing work in the restaurant responsibility for scheduling and staffing within a set budget developing service, hospitality and working methods introducing, coaching and developing staff creating clear routines for daily operations actively working with feedback, follow-up, work environment and team culture close collaboration with kitchen and bar planning and executing events together with other parts of the business ensuring opening, closing and practical operations run smoothly In short: you make sure Sue Ellen runs just as well behind the scenes as it feels in front of them. Who are you? Maybe you're already a Restaurant Manager. But you could just as easily be a really sharp Head Waiter or Assistant Restaurant Manager who's been waiting for the chance to take on bigger responsibility. For us your current title is less interesting than what you can actually do – and where you want to go. We believe you're someone who likes people and gets other people to work well together. You're clear without being rigid, unpretentious without being unclear and confident enough to speak up when something isn't working. You take initiative. You see what needs to be done. And you'd rather not wait for someone else to tell you about it. Above all, you think restaurants are fun. Guests, pace, colleagues, packed tables, unexpected situations and that special feeling when a team really nails an evening. Why Sue Ellen? Because you get the chance to make a real impact. The owners set direction, goals and financial frameworks. But the ambition is for the operational organization to run Sue Ellen independently. That means trust, responsibility and mandate. You'll also be coming in at an exciting time where we want to develop both the organization and the experience. The restaurant, bar and our own distillery should work together even better and Sue Ellen should be a workplace where good people thrive, develop – and hopefully stay for a long time. We can promise you the opportunity to build an even better Sue Ellen together with us. About Sue Ellen Sue Ellen is located at Tulegatan 17 in Vasastan and is a relaxed neighborhood restaurant with restaurant, bar, events and its own distillery. Here we serve lunch and dinner with classic flavors, quality ingredients and a hospitality that's personal rather than contrived. Other information Permanent employment with six months probation. Salary and start date by agreement. Member of Visita. Contact In this recruitment we have chosen to collaborate with Growisit - We recruit for the hospitality industry For questions about the position: Contact person: Niclas Ingwall Tel: 0706-48 62 47 [email protected] Application deadline is 2026-09-25 but we conduct screening and interviews on an ongoing basis. Sue Ellen – is a personal and unpretentious restaurant on Tulegatan in Vasastan, with warm atmosphere, lots of heart and a clear love for classically prepared food. Here classics like wiener schnitzel and steak tartare meet carefully selected wines, a solid beer selection and cocktails made from spirits produced in-house at Cliff Barnes Distillery in the basement. With bar hangouts, music quizzes and a large courtyard, Sue Ellen is as natural for a relaxed dinner as for a lively evening with friends.

Junior Material Project Manager at Technology Company

ABOUT THE POSITION: As a Material Project Manager, you'll have an important role in ensuring material supply to projects within the maintenance of marine vessels. You'll oversee the materials and services needed in the projects and follow them through the workflow – from identified need and ordering to ensuring the right material is available for operations at the right time. This is not a traditional project management role. The role is operations-focused and practical, which means you'll have extensive contact with procurement, materials planning, warehousing, production, and other technical functions. You'll become part of a team with experienced colleagues who will support you as you enter the role. As someone at the beginning of your career, there are therefore good opportunities to gradually build your understanding of material flows, projects, and marine operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and follow up on material supply in ongoing projects Ensure materials and services are available according to project needs and schedules Follow up on orders, order confirmations, and deliveries Create structure and overview of material requirements in projects Work closely with procurement, materials planning, warehousing, and operational activities Support operations in identifying and specifying what materials are needed Search for information about articles and components when existing documentation needs to be supplemented Handle deviations and help solve material-related problems that arise along the way WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU IF YOU: Have post-secondary education in, for example, procurement, logistics, supply chain, economics, industrial economics, or other relevant field Have approximately 1–3 years of experience in, for example, procurement, materials planning, logistics, supply chain, or similar work Understand material flows and how a material need progresses from ordering to delivery and use in operations Have good administrative skills and are used to creating structure and following up on multiple activities in parallel Speak and write fluent Swedish and English, as both languages are used in the work It's a plus if you have: Experience from production, industry, warehousing, or maintenance operations Experience in operational or tactical procurement Worked with materials planning or production planning A technical interest and enjoy learning about products and components Experience from shipyard operations, marine products, or similar environments To thrive in the role, we believe above all that you are curious, driven, and organized. You enjoy creating order, following up, and driving issues all the way until they're resolved. When information is missing, you're not afraid to ask questions, search further, or contact the right person to move forward. You'll work close to operations and therefore need to appreciate leaving your desk, building relationships, and understanding how things work in practice. We also believe you're unpretentious, have a certain amount of persistence, and feel comfortable standing your ground when needed. ABOUT THE CLIENT COMPANY: The client company is an established technology company that develops, maintains, and further develops technical products and systems for socially important operations.
