Quality Leader at BAE Systems Bofors

BAE Systems Bofors continues to strengthen its operations in advanced defense systems and is now seeking a new quality leader for the quality department. In this role, you will be a central part of the company's project operations, serving as the link between the customer's quality function and internal delivery. The mission is fundamentally about ensuring that demanding customer requirements are implemented in practice throughout the project lifecycle – from planning to approved delivery. The role has its main focus on marine projects, but also collaborates with other parts of the business. – "We work on technically advanced and long-term projects where quality is not just a checkpoint, but an integrated part of the entire delivery. That's why the quality leader role is absolutely critical to our success," says Quality Manager Anna Arnvig. BAE Systems Bofors is part of a global corporation with over 100,000 employees and has approximately 700 employees in its operations in Karlskoga, Karlstad, and Örebro. The company develops and manufactures advanced defense systems, including artillery pieces, marine systems, and intelligent ammunition. In this environment, people work closely with both internal functions and external customers on complex technical projects. A Role with Overall Responsibility As a quality leader, you work on multiple parallel, often long-term projects, with primary focus on the company's marine project operations. You have overall responsibility for quality assurance and drive systematic improvement work throughout the project organization. The role involves coordinating quality work, leading follow-ups and audits, and ensuring that deviations, risks, and changes are handled in a structured manner. An important part of the work is also dialogue with the customer, where you lead quality and follow-up meetings and ensure a common understanding of requirements and delivery. – "This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, customer, and project management. You need to be able to see both the details and the big picture at the same time," continues Anna Arnvig. The Drive in the Role Beyond operational quality work, the role has a clear focus on improvement. You actively work to develop work methods, identify lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement of the company's processes. This also includes responsibility for quality plans, delivery approvals, risk management, change management, and participation in project reviews and proposal work. Who the Role Is Suited For BAE Systems Bofors is looking for someone with several years of experience in quality work in complex technical environments. You have post-secondary technical education or equivalent experience. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to handle technically advanced systems where multiple disciplines work together, and have excellent ability to communicate in both Swedish and English. You work in a structured and analytical manner and have the ability to drive matters forward in complex project environments. You take responsibility, identify improvement opportunities, and translate them into concrete results that strengthen quality and customer value. You thrive in a role where you coordinate multiple stakeholders and work with the whole project. Experience with improvement methods such as LEAN or Six Sigma is a merit. A Role in an Organization with a Strong Culture Beyond the technical and operational responsibility, BAE Systems Bofors also emphasizes the importance of work environment and development. Employees are offered support from a mentor at the beginning of employment, continuous skills development, and opportunities for development within the corporation. Flexible working hours, wellness benefits, and social activities are part of everyday life, as is a culture characterized by collaboration and long-term thinking. – "We want our employees to thrive and develop over time. It's a prerequisite for us to continue delivering at the level we do today," says Anna Arnvig. Information and Application The position involves work that may be covered by defense classification, which is why we require Swedish citizenship and security clearance approved by authorities. Selection takes place on a rolling basis, so don't wait to apply. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities in this recruitment.
