About the Job As a personal assistant, you work closely with a person with a disability and provide the support needed for the client to live an independent life on their own terms. At Särnmark, you will receive an introduction with the client and training in the role of personal assistant. About the Employment We offer a temporary position. Working hours vary depending on the client and may be scheduled during day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. Salary and other employment terms are in accordance with the collective agreement for Personal Assistance (Vårdföretagarna/Kommunal). In your application, you must specify your citizenship. Personal Assistant – Part-Time Day & Evening Shifts

IGS Assistans is now seeking two dedicated and reliable personal assistants for a male client living in northern Gotland. We're looking for someone who enjoys working closely with people and wants to provide security, continuity, and excellent care. About the Position We have two available part-time positions, with the opportunity to work extra shifts as needed. It's therefore important that you have the flexibility to work both day and evening shifts. Work hours are: Day shift: 08.00–16.00 Evening shift: 16.00–22.30 As a personal assistant, you are an important support in the client's daily life. Your responsibilities include: Personal care Mobility assistance and use of assistive devices Support with daily routines Practical household tasks Accompaniment to activities and appointments Observation and adaptation based on the client's condition and needs The client uses respiratory support and a cough assist machine daily as part of their treatment. As an assistant, you will participate in the handling of these devices according to established procedures. Previous experience with respiratory devices is a merit but not a requirement. You will receive the necessary training and guidance through the neurology clinic in Visby and through an introduction before you independently manage these tasks. The client has autism, moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy. Daily life is characterized by a calm and adapted pace where his condition determines the activities. About the Role As an assistant, you are the client's safe point in everyday life. You support him at home, with personal care, and in daily routines. The client has interests in vehicles, music, secondhand items, and coffee breaks, but his condition often means he chooses to stay indoors. Your role is then to be there as an attentive support and create a meaningful daily life at home — for example through movies, iPad, board games, or simply calm moments in the house. A central part of the work is being alert to the client's wellbeing. When stressed or having difficulty expressing himself, he can show strong frustration. The role therefore requires you to stay calm, act stably, and guide when the environment becomes too intense.
