Working as a personal assistant means supporting a person in his or her daily life. Support services must be based on the user's individual needs and must promote independence and participation. Support services must be carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. Job duties include support and services including personal care, lifting and transfers, as well as household chores. For the most part, personal assistant is solo work so it is important that you can take own initiative and focus on opportunities and solutions. The work can be perceived as physically demanding. That's where I get everything I need—what I put in my mouth is only the most delicious food and of course some objects that look delicate. I'm quick as a weasel and love adventure so you need to have eyes in the back of your head so I don't sneak off. I have periods of severe self-injurious behavior so I need help protecting myself, preventing it, and finding strategies to keep it to a minimum. Sleep isn't really my thing either—life is an adventure so I don't really have time for sleeping. I love cycling, both on my tricycle, side by side bike, and cargo bike. I also love the swimming pool and amusement park—sometimes it gets a bit loud and crowded so sometimes visits are short and sometimes many hours. I love hugs, tickles, and singing loudly. Long walks and playgrounds are also big favorites. Yes, I'm a real life lover and I'm looking for you who wants to enjoy life together with me. I go to school on weekdays until 2:00 PM so there are shifts in afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends. Schedule is flexible by agreement. If needed, 20-40 hours per week according to preference. Experience is not a requirement—if you feel you match my awesomeness, you'll get all the instructions as we go along. I just want the best of the best, someone who understands the importance of being my Sidekick and helping me through life. I'm the one who always finds the needle in the haystack. You will support our member during her work hours at the day activity center in Ängelholm. Your responsibilities will include providing support and supervision in all activities at the day activity center as well as assisting with personal hygiene, restroom visits, communication and participating in activities. The member enjoys music, having coffee in town and eating out. She also likes swimming and it is good if you feel comfortable in water. WHO ARE YOU? Given the member's functional variation, it is important that you speak Swedish well, are direct and clear in your communication and have the ability to set boundaries. Experience with sign language as support and knowledge within the autism spectrum are meriting factors. As an assistant you will receive help and guidance during your onboarding as well as in your work from colleagues and family members who are always available.
