Are you the new assistant we're looking for? ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking a personal assistant for a day activity center for one of our members, a 46-year-old woman with autism and intellectual disability. Our member is non-verbal and has visual impairment and communicates using pictures (pictograms) and body language. Routines are very important to our member. You will support our member during her work hours at the day activity center in Ängelholm. Your responsibilities will include providing support and supervision in all activities at the day activity center as well as assisting with personal hygiene, restroom visits, communication and participating in activities. The member enjoys music, having coffee in town and eating out. She also likes swimming and it is good if you feel comfortable in water. WHO ARE YOU? Given the member's functional variation, it is important that you speak Swedish well, are direct and clear in your communication and have the ability to set boundaries. Experience with sign language as support and knowledge within the autism spectrum are meriting factors. As an assistant you will receive help and guidance during your onboarding as well as in your work from colleagues and family members who are always available. We hope that you see your work long-term. We see that you are a responsible woman who is confident in yourself and not afraid of challenges. Furthermore, we see that you are a self-driven person who finds it easy to take own initiatives for what needs to be done in and around the assistance. You should also be good at cooperating with the parents/legal guardian and with day activity center staff and be responsive to their working methods. We are looking for someone who is positive and calm, has great patience and who wants to make an effort to do a good job! You must also not be allergic to fur animals as dogs and horses are around the member. A driver's license and access to a car are a great plus. We would like to see that you have experience working as a personal assistant. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is trained as a nursing assistant or personal assistant with experience or has other equivalent training. The position is located in Ängelholm. We use the digital scheduling and time reporting system Aiai which means you need to be computer literate. An extract from the police's criminal records register is required to work within the service area according to LSS. WHO IS EILA? We started our operations in February 1995 in Ängelholm and now we are present in various locations in Skåne. We are a non-profit association for people with various functional variations who have the right to personal assistance according to LSS - The Act on Support and Service. We currently have 20 members/users with different functional variations where just over 140 employees work in various forms of employment and several users are entering our operations. We have collective agreements with Kommunal. Most of the assistants are recruited from outside, but we also have family members employed as personal assistants. EILA functions as an interest group for members and has overall responsibility for their assistance and for all staff. Eila is affiliated with the collective agreement between Fremia and Kommunal.
