Implementation Planning Officer, Garrison Battalion F 16

F 16 is responsible for Uppsala Garrison and the operations of Uppsala Airport. The Squadron is also responsible for the surveillance of Swedish airspace around the clock, year-round, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the global situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit Garrison Battalion 163 consists of the Logistics Company, Garrison Company, and Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on executing their main mission. The Battalion's role and tasks are developing rapidly to meet the new tasks and challenges that Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces face. Main Duties As an implementation planning officer, you are an important part as a recipient of tasks from higher command and for reporting back to them. The time horizon of tasks varies from solving emerging issues within an hour to planning several years ahead. Examples of work tasks: Plan with good advance notice and an annual planning horizon, and write supporting documents/governing documents/orders Execute task assignment, coordination, and follow-up of subordinate operations Create conditions for subordinates to execute assigned operations Independently lead and conduct preparations Independently lead ongoing operations within the Battalion Prepare materials for prioritizations and decisions and present these to higher command Contribute to a common operational picture both within the Battalion and within the unit. Since the position is located in a staff, the work will be characterized by general staff duties that depend greatly on the current situation within the Swedish Armed Forces and F 16. The position as implementation planning officer involves tasks at all levels and with different time horizons. A large portion of the work involves cooperation and collaboration with others within the Battalion, the unit, and Uppsala Garrison.
