About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for correctional facilities, probation services, remand prisons, and inmate transports. About the Workplace The Stockholm West operations area in the beautiful Ekerö Municipality includes the open correctional facility Svartsjö, the partially open women's facility Färingsö, and the remand prison Färingsö. Approximately 170 employees and ten managers administer, lead, and develop the operations, which receive about 270 inmates. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the facility also employs healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or woodwork, crafts, manufacturing, and assembly. The inmates also operate an ecological farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. The two facilities are within walking distance of each other and are accessible by bus or car. Job Responsibilities As a Duty Officer, you will operatively lead and allocate daily work at the facility/remand prison in consultation with the correctional facility inspectors. Your responsibilities also include staffing matters in the form of short-term scheduling, where you ensure we have the right number of employees in the right places. In this work, you will collaborate with our central staffing team. The Duty Officer represents the employer and ensures that the management chain is maintained throughout to all employees.
