Your Assignment
As an IT Technician, you will be part of the Cyber Operations Division. The division contributes to strengthening protection against qualified IT attacks from abroad for Sweden's most critical operations. The division is also responsible for tasks in the field of cryptology and secure cryptographic functions.
In your role as IT Technician, you work closely with technology within the data product area and have an important task in ensuring that cryptosystems function stably, securely, and over time. Here you encounter a daily routine where technology, precision, and operational needs are intertwined. Your work includes both maintaining cryptosystems in hardware and software as well as practical tasks such as technical support, customer support, and repairs. You also work with upgrades, training, and advice regarding the systems.
Through your work, you become an important link between technology, users, and partners. You have many points of contact, both internally within the agency and externally with customers and partners, and you contribute to creating understanding and functional solutions in daily work. We therefore see your ability to communicate in a target-group-adapted manner as an important success factor for the role.
Over time, there are good opportunities to develop further in the field and deepen your knowledge within signal protection and cryptosystems. This could in the long term lead to roles such as signal protection manager or signal protection instructor. Here you get a role where you work close to the technology and where your work makes a difference every day.

You Can
We are looking for someone who has:
Completed upper secondary education
At least three years of experience in IT work within data communication
Knowledge of how computers communicate in IT environments
Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as well as good reading and listening comprehension
Good ability to read and understand documentation in English
We consider it meritorious if you have:
Post-secondary education in data communication
IT strategic work experience

The workplace is located in Sollefteå, Västernorrlands County. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be placed on war mobilization alert.
