About the Operations Ambulance care has a regional mission and consists of five ambulance stations, three satellite stations operated by Region Västernorrland, and three privately operated ambulance stations. The operations employ approximately 200 staff distributed across five region-operated units, each led by a unit manager, and three contracted units. The operations are responsible for prehospital care, which includes assessment and treatment of acutely ill and injured patients of all ages and with all types of medical conditions and injuries before hospital care. Ambulance services handle approximately 36,000 assignments per year. The operations maintain important interfaces and collaborations with SOS Alarm, emergency departments, care units, primary care, psychiatric care, national and municipal emergency services, social services, municipal care and elderly care, and police.
