Within the Department of Oncology and Radiation Physics, we provide highly specialized care for patients with many different diagnoses. You will primarily work as a contact nurse for patients being treated for cancer in the head-neck region, but other diagnoses also occur. The most common treatment for this patient group is external radiation therapy, but other oncological treatments may be relevant. The unit has several teams for different diagnoses and we collaborate to provide patients with the best possible care and evidence-based treatment. As a contact nurse, you will be part of one of these teams. The work is characterized by close collaboration between different professions and also with other units within the department and in the region. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a contact nurse, you will meet patients and their loved ones throughout the entire treatment process and during follow-up afterward. You are involved in planning treatments and ensuring the patient's influence and participation in their care. You meet patients during clinic visits, and your work also includes counseling and assessment via telephone, symptom monitoring, and support to patients and their loved ones during and after illness and treatment.
