The Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Sus is one of Sweden's leading providers of spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation. We have been granted the significant trust of the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare to operate as one of four nationally highly specialized units. At Orup Hospital, we offer highly specialized rehabilitation for people who have suffered acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or other conditions requiring intensive and team-based rehabilitation. WORK DUTIES As a nurse, you are an important part of the patient's rehabilitation process and the team. In nursing care, you work closely with both nurse colleagues and nursing assistants. Furthermore, you also have daily collaboration with other team members; doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologist, social worker, psychologist, and medical secretary. Leisure consultant, rehabilitation assistant, and rehabilitation coach are also part of the patient's rehabilitation. We work patient-centered in interdisciplinary teams and value high patient participation. A rehabilitation plan is established together with the patient and followed up regularly. Typical care duration is two to twelve weeks, which means you get to follow the patient's development and improvement. The goal of rehabilitation is for the person to become as active and independent as possible. Together we coach and offer training and treatment interventions to help them achieve their goals in family life, work, and leisure. Good teamwork, good communication, and well-established structures for the rehabilitation process mean that our patients can make great progress in a short time. With us, we provide advanced healthcare at a slower pace, as there must be time for each individual patient and their relatives to adapt to their new circumstances. Providing the patient with knowledge and motivation to be able to take responsibility and participate in decisions about their own health and well-being is part of your role as a nurse. During evenings and weekends, you work across our three departments. The collaboration is strong between our units, which enables good insight and skill development within the other departments' patient groups. We want you to participate in our continuous improvement work, where we have been using a systematic quality system with accreditation in rehabilitation medicine (CARF) for many years. Your employment begins with a supervised introduction tailored to your individual needs. In the introduction program, you work alongside other professions to provide a good foundation for close teamwork. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are also required. As a person, you are flexible, have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a team, and have an interest in working pedagogically and motivatingly. You take your own initiative and are independent while contributing to a good working climate. We value that you have good conduct toward everyone around you and service-oriented thinking.
