HVB Nova is under ASF and receives youth who are placed under the Social Services Act (SoL) or Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) and who are placed based on care and environment considerations. HVB Nova is also Malmö City's only municipal residential facility for unaccompanied children ages 13 to 21 who have received permanent/temporary residence permits (PUT/TUT) or have been assigned to Malmö while awaiting a decision from the Swedish Migration Agency, as well as children/youth in transition processes ages 13-21. HVB Nova also has two emergency placements at the disposal of Malmö City. HVB Nova has a total of 23 places: 15 places for permanent youth residents, 2 places for emergency placements, and 6 places for transitional placements. The 6 transitional places can be quickly converted to 24 if an urgent need arises. HVB Nova is staffed around the clock with night staff on duty.
