The department has 4 radiation therapy machines, each treating 30-35 patients per day. We also have our own CT scanner and PET/MR camera as well as dose planning capabilities. We have satisfied patients and a well-established patient flow. We work in a multidisciplinary manner with short decision-making paths. WORK TASKS As a Hospital Physicist with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure. You will be part of a team of five dose planners. Work as a dose planner involves planning, optimizing, and evaluating radiation therapy plans, primarily for external dose planning with photons. Electrons may also occur. The work is performed independently but in close collaboration within the group. You work closely with doctors, hospital physicists, and treatment staff. You participate in developing dose planning methods together with other staff. Your daily work also includes demonstrating dose plans during various rounds together with doctors. As a hospital physicist, you also dose plan plans with protons for the Skandion clinic. All work is performed on-site at the Radiation Therapy department in Umeå. QUALIFICATIONS You applying for this position must be a licensed hospital physicist. Furthermore, you have good experience with digital work tools and have strong knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We consider it advantageous if you have previously worked with dose planning and/or within radiation therapy. To succeed in the role of hospital physicist, you need good communication skills. At the same time, you must have a good ability to plan, structure, and perform work carefully.
