Ref: 20261730 Job Responsibilities Together with your colleagues, you will work with supervision and motivating and supportive interventions for youth ages 13-21. You are expected and given the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that the city's young people receive safe and professional treatment. The work requires you to be active and strive for good quality and operational development in order to stimulate and motivate the young person to develop their abilities. You are involved in many aspects concerning the young person: you provide support, conduct conversations, serve as a contact person, facilitate the young person's contact with various authorities, and document in the Journal Digital system. The work is broad and includes everything from treatment work to cooking, basic facility maintenance, and transportation. Good treatment, empathy, and the ability to meet the young person "where they are" are important qualities in the person we are seeking. You are collaboration-oriented, responsive, and work to create a good work environment. You reflect on your own actions and are comfortable both giving and receiving feedback. You are structured but also have a high level of flexibility, both in how you interact in different situations and in responding to changing circumstances. It is important that you are secure and stable in yourself with your emotions under control, even in more challenging situations, and that you have a professional yet personal approach. Qualifications Requirements: You have a degree from at least a 2-year post-secondary education in social work, for example as a treatment pedagogue with 400 YH credits or as a social worker (socionom). You have experience in social work with children and young people. Since our work involves considerable communication, both in the form of written documentation and conversations, good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing as well as good communication skills are required. You hold a class B driver's license and have experience driving manual transmission vehicles. About the Workplace At Nova, strong bonds are formed between young people and staff as we have many long-term placements. Our young people come from all over the world and at our workplace we speak over 15 languages together. HVB Nova is under ASF and receives youth who are placed under the Social Services Act (SoL) or Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) and who are placed based on care and environment considerations. HVB Nova is also Malmö City's only municipal residential facility for unaccompanied children ages 13 to 21 who have received permanent/temporary residence permits (PUT/TUT) or have been assigned to Malmö while awaiting a decision from the Swedish Migration Agency, as well as children/youth in transition processes ages 13-21. HVB Nova also has two emergency placements at the disposal of Malmö City. HVB Nova has a total of 23 places: 15 places for permanent youth residents, 2 places for emergency placements, and 6 places for transitional placements. The 6 transitional places can be quickly converted to 24 if an urgent need arises. HVB Nova is staffed around the clock with night staff on duty. The staffing consists of 14.5 personnel including 8 treatment assistants/social pedagogues working day/evening shifts with one having team lead responsibility, 5 treatment assistants/social pedagogues working night shifts, and one section manager.
