Ottobock Care in Östersund holds the complete contract for orthotic and prosthetic services and aids within Region Jämtland Härjedalen. About the Position As a Licensed Orthotic and Prosthetic Technologist with us, you work together with your colleagues to improve the quality of life for people with injuries or functional impairments by enhancing their mobility and independence. We work with all types of orthotic and prosthetic aids, from orthopedic shoes and insoles to orthotics and prosthetics. The foundation of our operations is collaboration with other healthcare professionals and the teamwork conducted within pediatric/adult rehabilitation, prosthetics clinics, foot and ankle injuries, and diabetes foot care teams. Our Operations At CIVA, we care for approximately 850–900 patients annually with failure of vital life-supporting functions. We are responsible for intensive care in Uppsala County and simultaneously serve as a regional and national resource for highly specialized care. Our patients often have complex conditions such as severe infections, trauma, cardiac arrest, and advanced postoperative complications. Through close collaboration with other intensive care units, we also care for patients with conditions such as burns, neurological and thoracic diseases. The work is varied and fast-paced, with rapid shifts and strong teamwork. Your Assignment As a clinical nurse specialist in intensive care at CIVA, your primary responsibility is to care for our hospitalized patients with failure of vital functions. You work in a patient-centered manner as part of a team with nursing assistants, intensive care physicians, and physiotherapists, delivering advanced intensive care based on each patient's needs. Beyond this, you participate in CIVA's hospital-wide assignments. Within Adult Emergency Response, you may serve as the emergency response nurse coordinator and work with intensive care physicians in acute interventions throughout the hospital, where quick decisions and good collaboration are essential. You also participate in the post-intensive care follow-up team (PIG), where we follow up with patients after their discharge from ICU. You plan and coordinate follow-up together with the care unit and other professionals, contributing to continuity, reassurance, and increased understanding of the intensive care experience. This fall, we are launching a pilot program with a mobile intensive care team (MIG). Working with intensive care physicians, you will proactively provide early interventions for patients who deteriorate on the care unit, with a focus on preventing serious conditions and strengthening patient safety. Your Qualifications and Competence We are seeking a registered nurse with a clinical nurse specialist qualification in intensive care. You may be new to the role or have extensive experience. You work in a structured manner even at a fast pace, have strong collaborative skills, and feel confident in your professional role.
