Nurses for the Blood, Gastrointestinal, and Rheumatology Department

Do you want to work close to patients, in a team where expertise, development, and care go hand in hand? Duties As a nurse with us on BMTR, you become part of an engaged and stable work group where the patient's needs always come first. You meet patients with everything from acute blood diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases to liver and rheumatological diseases – often with high medical complexity. With us, you get to work with some of medicine's most specialized and educational patient groups, such as acute leukemia, liver cirrhosis, acute liver failure, and newly discovered IBD or flares in already known diseases. Many patients have central lines and receive intensive intravenous treatments, which gives you the opportunity to develop broad and deep clinical expertise. We also provide follow-up care related to stem cell transplants and liver transplants. Your duties include standard nursing tasks, including the administration of cytostatic agents, but also active participation in person-centered care work. You work in teams around the patient together with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and dietitians. We also have close collaboration with our day care and outpatient clinic to create continuity and security for our patients. After having tried care elsewhere, I chose to return to the department – twice. Here I meet complex patient groups and get to work in a strong and unpretentious team. It's here I feel I can make a difference, every day. We prioritize education and professional development, and there is always someone to ask, regardless of profession. About the Workplace The Blood, Gastrointestinal, and Rheumatology Department (BMTR) is an internal medicine department within the specialties of hematology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology. The department is part of the Medical Clinic in Västerås. At the clinic, nearly 500 employees work, where there is opportunity to grow and develop with us. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, at the beginning of your career or with experience in the profession. If you have worked in hospital care and in the areas of hematology, gastroenterology, or rheumatology, that is a merit. It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of the journal system Cosmic as we use it. To ensure good care, we see that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You who apply have the ability to plan and structure your work in an efficient manner. A workday with us can change quickly, and therefore we see that you can adapt to different situations while maintaining your calm and focus. Since we often work in teams, we see that you have good collaboration and communication skills. You have an empathetic and professional approach to patients, relatives, and colleagues. Terms of Employment Permanent employment, full-time. We offer rotation of day, evening, weekend, and night shifts. We use a wish schedule with the possibility to work night shifts only. When rotating toward night, we follow Region Västmanland's guidelines. For each night shift, four hours of working time reduction is given. For permanent nights, the weekly working time is 32 hours (full-time). On-call compensation for nurses is enhanced by 40% according to local agreement with Vårdförbundet. Start date by agreement.
