Physiotherapist for Disability Services, Municipal Health and Care

The Social Care Administration at Borås City is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health and care services for these target groups. With approximately 1,000 employees and 45 managers, we continuously work to improve the quality of our services for those we serve. About the Operation At the Social Care Administration, you will find stimulating work with an exciting patient population. In the unit for municipal health and care in Borås City, two teams work with disability services and one team works with social psychiatry. Your work tasks will be directed toward patients who live in group homes, service housing, and patients in ordinary housing with personal assistance. Work Tasks In the unit, six physiotherapists work with disability services. We have the time and resources to work thoroughly and with detailed focus on our patients, and we can develop and improve our work with our target group in focus. The Social Care Administration is a smaller administration. Short decision-making pathways provide great opportunities for development of both the unit and our work in the direction we wish. Examples of projects we have initiated include training groups in gym and aquatic environments, training videos, education in transfer techniques in the facilities, and initiatives to promote increased physical activity in a sedentary target group. Some of the diagnoses we work with include Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, various forms of intellectual disability, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. We also work with acquired brain injuries and degenerative neurological diagnoses such as MS, ALS, and Huntington's disease. We provide physiotherapy interventions for musculoskeletal problems that may arise from the patient's underlying condition, but we also assess, investigate, and treat other conditions that affect our patients. Our patient group requires a creative mind where you will be challenged to push the boundaries of conventional physiotherapy knowledge and methods. As a course administrator for the interpreter training programs, you work both administratively and with the school's contacts with current and prospective course participants. Communication with participants takes place through the Google Classroom learning platform, but also via telephone or email. The position includes invoicing, payments, logistical planning of in-person meetings, ordering course materials, mailings, and archiving course certificates. You will have extensive participant contact, as well as close collaboration with the course instructors and language mentors. You will be part of the school's administrative team, which holds regular coordination meetings.
