Nyköping Gymnasium is the largest upper secondary school in Nyköping. We have eleven national programs—six of which are vocational programs, four different introduction programs, and adapted school. Over 250 people work here to inspire and motivate, help and support our 1,600 students in succeeding with their studies according to their abilities. We actively work toward Sweden's best school 2030, among other things through collegial learning and our school development plan. Nyköping Gymnasium is now seeking a certified teacher, qualified for upper primary grades, in science subjects, mathematics, and Swedish for the introduction programs. Personal suitability is weighted heavily in this position. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES The position is located at Nyköping Gymnasium where you will primarily teach students in the Gripen unit on introduction programs. You will be part of a team with fantastic colleagues who will welcome you, and together you will develop learning environments, approaches, and teaching that develops students' learning and social development. The position includes teaching science subjects, mathematics, and Swedish. It is also an asset if you have upper secondary school eligibility. A large part of your work involves supporting students who have difficulties in the subject and helping them reach the goals toward upper secondary school eligibility. Our activities are characterized by a positive mindset and we have strong confidence in students' competencies. We work with full-time mentors so you have the opportunity to focus entirely on the student and their development. As a teacher, you are responsible for the pedagogical work within the subjects you teach. The position requires that you have clear leadership with engagement and warmth that challenges and supports students so they achieve good academic results. We work according to the school's curriculum. You work based on the curricula and translate the goals into meaningful learning for students. We use digital tools in our work with pedagogical documentation. The position encompasses 50-100 percent, depending on your subject combination and the organization's needs. Since we are seeking teachers in science subjects, Swedish, and mathematics, the extent of the position may vary depending on which subjects you are qualified to teach. QUALIFICATIONS You have teacher certification and good subject knowledge in the subjects relevant to the position. It is an asset if you have experience teaching at the upper secondary level and/or working with students in introduction programs. To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in your teaching role and have the ability to meet students with different conditions and needs. You are clear, structured, and flexible in your working approach and have an easy way of building trusting relationships with students. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and would like to see that you are an engaged person, solution-focused, and have a professional and respectful approach. You take responsibility for your assignment, are responsive to students' needs, and contribute to good collaboration with colleagues. Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
