Work Tasks As an operations engineer, you have a central role in managing Gothenburg's drinking water network. You represent the facility owner and are responsible for ensuring that the network functions, develops, and is managed in a sustainable manner. Umeå Region Fire and Rescue Service works with fire prevention activities and emergency response services in the municipalities of Umeå, Vindeln, and Robertsfors. The operation includes a full-time station in central Umeå with approximately 90 employees, nine on-call stations with around 150 firefighters on standby, and two volunteer fire departments. Together with 16 other municipalities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, we are part of the joint emergency management system Räddningssamverkan Nord. We are in an exciting phase of development. Responsibilities As Director of Fire Prevention Services, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and monitoring the operation together with the organization's employees. You have personnel responsibility for a team consisting of fire engineers and fire inspectors, as well as budget responsibility for fire prevention activities. You are part of the fire service's management group and actively contribute to developing the operation and ensuring professional execution of the organization's overall mission. Organizationally, you report directly to the Fire Chief. Depending on your qualifications and suitability, there may also be an opportunity to take on one of the fire service's senior command functions. The position is primarily office-based and involves responsibility for leading, developing, and monitoring the operation's goals, work areas, and assignments. Since parts of the work can be performed remotely, you have the possibility of living outside the immediate Umeå area.
