The Faculty of Medicine is one of the largest faculties at Umeå University and attracts many students with a comprehensive range of programs in medicine, dentistry, health, and care. Description The Faculty of Medicine is the place for research and education within the field of medicine. Here you will find 12 undergraduate programs, 12 departments, and approximately 80 subject specializations within graduate education. The Medical Program at Umeå University is decentralized across four study locations: Sunderbyn, Sundsvall, Umeå, and Östersund. At Sundsvall Hospital, medical education is provided for students starting from term 6. Adjacent to the educational facilities is a KTC (Clinical Training Center) for practicing practical procedures. We are now seeking two teaching assistants to lead evening self-training sessions for program students. Job Responsibilities Working as a teaching assistant means you will teach other students in the Medical Program. The instruction covers practical procedures such as peripheral venipuncture and the various examination methods that occur throughout the program, as well as leading interprofessional simulation exercises. You will also have an important role in assisting with and taking responsibility for the available equipment. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who will begin terms 9-11 of the Medical Program in fall 2026. We seek someone who is pedagogical, thorough, social, a problem solver, and knowledgeable in the practical aspects of your studies. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Terms of Employment The position is at 10%, 4 hours per week during the period September 2026 to December 18, 2026, and January 18, 2027 to June 11, 2027. Your working hours will be scheduled primarily in the evenings. Introductory training will be provided at Clinium Betula during August, and as a teaching assistant you will be offered instructor training in basic adult CPR and training in the SMART simulation concept. Introduction and some training will take place in Sundsvall. The exact date for introduction has not yet been determined. Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated according to the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (HF).
