We are now seeking an operations engineer for the Water Operations unit, which is responsible for operating, maintaining, and developing the city's drinking water network. We work with everything from planning operational activities and leak mitigation to long-term development of the distribution network and collaborate closely with both the project organization and other parts of the operation. Work Tasks As an operations engineer, you have a central role in managing Gothenburg's drinking water network. You represent the facility owner and are responsible for ensuring that the network functions, develops, and is managed in a sustainable manner. In this role, you will, among other things: plan and follow up on operational and maintenance activities, provide operational support to managers and employees for both planned and emergency work, coordinate and drive issues together with the project organization, contractors, and other partners, participate in investment and renewal projects, develop working methods, routines, and technical solutions within operations and maintenance. You will be an important link between operations and the project organization and have many contact points both internally and externally. Because drinking water supply is a critical service, you will also participate in crisis and emergency preparedness planning to ensure supply even during extraordinary events. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a technical engineer in water and wastewater, process technology, or another field that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with water and wastewater processes, hydraulic models, or similar. It is advantageous if you are a civil engineer or have experience in work management or project management. To thrive in this role, you are analytical and have the ability to see the big picture while implementing your analyses into practical solutions. You are driven, take initiative, and take responsibility for moving work forward and have an easy time collaborating with others. You communicate clearly and adapt your message to the recipient and situation. By showing interest in others' perspectives and creating understanding, you contribute to respectful and trustful collaboration. Conditions This position is security-classified and requires passed security vetting, which includes drug and alcohol testing, background check from Säpo (Swedish Security Service), and that you hold Swedish citizenship.
